BEPZA Public School & College, Uttara EPZ, Nilphamari has formally started its journey. Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced the inauguration of the school on 01 November, 2018 via video conferencing from the Gono Bhavan, Dhaka as a part of inaugurating other projects countrywide. During inauguration she said, ‘I have founded the Uttara EPZ. Now this school will be helpful in spreading better education in this region’.
Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) established the school on 2017 by its own cost on 2.54 acres of land. A two storied building with four storied foundation having all modern facilities has been constructed. There are 21 rooms including 14 classrooms, teacher’s room, library, laboratory, auditorium with central sound system. This year, the school started educational activities from nursery to class five with 224 students. The UEPZ workers’ children will get education here in 50% subsidized tuition fee like other BEPZA Public School & Colleges.
Mentionable, Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, by her pragmatic decision, established Uttara EPZ on 2001. Presently 17 industries are in operation and created employment opportunities for 32000 Bangladeshi nationals. The Uttara EPZ has already become a role model for women empowerment and a hub of diversified products.
