PMO & BEPZA signed Annual Performance Agreement to implement Vision-2021

To implement vision-2021 Prime Minister’s Office and Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority signed Annual Performance Agreement (APA) for the FY 2015-16 in presence of Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on 01/07/2015. This agreement signed to evaluate the qualitative and quantitative activities and inspiring the organizations to carry out result-oriented activities round the year of BEPZA. This annual performance agreement will bring dynamism among the organizations under Prime Minister’s Office which will help to provide better service effectively according to public demand. Ms. Suraiya Begum, ndc, Secretary, Prime Minister’s Office and Major General Mohd Habibur Rahman Khan, ndc, psc, the Executive Chairman, BEPZA signed the agreement. Mentionable that, BEPZA and other five organizations under the Prime Minister’s Office signed the APA targets set for their respective organization in the current year.
This APA will term the annual performance management as very effective tool to evaluate capability of public organizations at various tires, which will expedite to achieve Vision 2021 within short time. BEPZA will achieve desired target to implement this process. To ensure institutional accountability, transparency, proper use of public resources, uphold the organizational success in a quantitative way and improvement of the organizational efficiency in public sector as a tool of performance management government has taken initiatives for the first time in the country to introduce performance agreement system in different ministry/department with their respective departments/agencies. As part of this initiative, the vision, mission, objectives and activities of the organizations have been reviewed in details and according to this; the most important Performance Indicators have been determined to achieve the objectives of the organization. In view of Performance Indicators, the various activities and targets of organization have been determined. Annual Performance Agreement (APA) will continue to work to achieve these targets of BEPZA.
However, to make Bangladesh a middle-income country is one of the goals of the government by implementing Vision-2021. One of the pre-requisites of this goal is to establish good governance in every sphere of administration.
Among other Mr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Principal Secretary, PMO, PM’s advisor Mr. H T Imam, Dr. Gowher Rizvi, Mr. Md. Abdul Halim, Director General, GIU & another high officils, Mr. Sayed Nurul Islam, Member (Investment Promotion), Mr. Md. Mosaddeque Ali, Member (Engineering), Mr. Md. Shawkat Nabi, Secretary, Mr. Md. Ashraful Kabir, General Manager (Investment Promotion), Mrs. Nazma Binte Alamgir, General Manager (Public Relations) were present in the signing Ceremony.
