Launching Automated Digitalized Intelligent Barrier Gate in Dhaka EPZ

To become the active partner of ‘Digital Bangladesh’, Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority has introduced Automated Digitalized Intelligent Barrier Gate at Dhaka EPZ. “In the onward steps of Digital Bangladesh, entry & exit of vehicles in DEPZ will be controlled by modern digitalized method”. This was disclosed by Major General Mohd Habibur Rahman Khan, ndc, psc, Executive Chairman of BEPZA during the inaugural ceremony of automated digitalize gate in Dhaka EPZ yesterday (13-01-2015) at Savar.
This initiative has taken by BEPZA Chief as a part of implementing Government’s Digital Bangladesh Plan. In the inauguration event, General Habib also said, “DEPZ’s security will be ensuring by use of this modern technology as well as control unauthorized vehicles in customs bonded area. Digitalization has been playing an important role in the 21st century. In this connection, Dhaka EPZ has installed automated intelligent barrier gate, in future it will be introduce in other EPZs.
It may be mentioned that, special sensor system will be activating in authorized vehicles during entry & exit inside the EPZ’s. In this regards, Executive Chairman said, ‘Export-Import permission barcode and Exit-Entry of goods carrier vehicles will be linked with the computer system of intelligent barrier gate. As a result, movement of the vehicles will be easier by control automatically checking the barcode including entry in the computer. Furthermore, digital communication radio link has been introducing to maintain the peaceful working environment and overall security system.
Foreign and local investors of DEPZ praised this step taken by BEPZA as a part of resounding modern globalization with the aim of achieving Digital Bangladesh concept. They congratulate BEPZA Chief during their presence in the inaugural ceremony. Mr. Md. Ashraful Kabir, General Manager, Dhaka EPZ, Mrs. Nazma Binte Alamgir, General Manager (Public Relations), BEPZA and Mr. Md. Tanvir Hossain, DGM (CO) were present at the inaugural ceremony.
