Rear Admiral Masud Iqbal, NPP, ndc, psc, Chairman of Payra Port Authority, paid a courtesy call on Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, BSP, ndc, psc, Executive Chairman of BEPZA, at BEPZA Complex, Dhaka today (18 August 2025). During the meeting, the BEPZA Executive Chairman briefed him on BEPZA’s journey, its overall activities, and significant contributions to the national economy. They discussed the upcoming Patuakhali EPZ near Payra Port, with plot allotment expected to begin by June 2026, and how investors of both Patuakhali and Mongla EPZ will benefit from the port’s facilities. The Payra Port Authority Chairman expressed optimism that the port will be operational by July next year. The meeting was attended by senior BEPZA officials, including Md. Imtiaz Hossain (Member, Engineering) and A N M Foyzul Haque (Member, Finance).
