Commerce Adviser and Special Envoy to the Chief Adviser visit BEPZA

A high-level delegation, comprising Sk. Bashir Uddin, Honourable Adviser, Ministry of Commerce, and Lutfey Siddiqi, Special Envoy to the Chief Adviser on International Affairs, visited the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) on December 3, 2024.

During the visit, BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman briefed them on the overall activities of BEPZA, including the role of the EPZs and their significant contribution to the nation's economic growth. They were also informed about the authority's operational procedures as well as how BEPZA effectively engages with new and existing investors.

Lutfey Siddiqi highlighted the importance of providing faster services to investors, fostering collaboration among the country’s Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs), and creating a more favorable investment climate to attract more foreign and domestic investment. He also underscored the importance of reforming IPAs to align with the evolving global context.
